January 23, at 6:00 p.m. at Wrocław’s University of Technology, there will be a gala premiere of Witold Świętnicki’s new film, Powiedz prawdę, przecież cię nie biję (Tell the me Truth—I Won’t Hit You…). The director is known to the general public primarily for his highly controversial Golasy (The Naked) from 2000.

The film was shot mainly during the summer in2009 in Wrocław. Świętnicki cooperated with the members of FOSA (Film Producer’s Academic Association), which operates by Wrocław’s University of Technology. What inspired the script was a blog, whose author meticulously recorded whatever his family—especially his mother—said. In Tell the Truth…, the situation is the same: the son barely says anything, while the monologues of the mother never end.

The director and the artists will attend the premiere, and will be happy to answer any questions in a semi-conference following the screening. Worth seeing will also be the exhibition of Kasia Lisiak’s photographic account of her work on the set (build. C-13, in the hall).
