The Hungarian Mediawave festival has finished the first part of film selections for this year's edition of the event. From 1174 film that have been submitted, 74 were chosen, 4 of them Polish.
The Polish contestants that will go on to compete for the main prizes are: Paweł Ferdka's short, "Szklana Pułapka" ("Die Hard"), Jonas Matow Gulbrandsen's "Darek", Matej Bobrik's "Tam gdzie słońce się nie spieszy" ("Where the Sun doesn't Rush"), and Bartek Kanopik and Piotr Rosołowski's "Królik po berlińsku" ("Rabbit a la Berlin").
Matej Bobrik with his "Tam gdzie słońce się nie spieszy" charmed in 2009 the audience and the Jury at KAN 2009, and was awarded Silver KANewka in the documentary film category.
"Królik po berlińsku" is the only Polish production nominated to this year's Academy Awards.
This year's Mediawave begins on April 30 and will last till May 16.
