Roman Polański received Silver Bear for Best Director for his The Ghost Writer

The 60th edition of Berlin International Film Awards is over. The Golden Bear for Best Film went to Semith Kaplanoglu for Bal (Honey). Roman Polański also is a great winner of this year's edition of the festival. His latest production, The Ghost Writer was awarded Silver Bear for Best Director, but the director himself did not appear at the ceremony. As his producer quoted, Polański could not come in person, because on the way to the last Berlinale he was invited to, he had to make a detour to jail.

Golden Bear for the best short film – Ruben Östlund for Händelse Vid Bank

Generation Kplus Children's Jury Crystal Bear for the Best film – Alex Law for Shui Yuet Sun Tau
