Round one Film Battle at Łokietka 5, a clash between Wrocław's avantgarde filmmakers, looms closer!

As we have mentioned, March 4 at 7.00 pm the film battle will start. In the red corner, 42. Korporacja Filmowa, in the blue one, Paweł Jeleński.

Although the name suggests a real fight, Film Battle aims less at rivalry than at integrating the dispersed OFF-film representatives. This is all the task of the new cultural centre that is coming to life in Nadodrze.

Short intro. of the participants. 42. Korporacja, created by Michał Czerwonka and Kinga Demska, have been at KAN five years ago, when their Fobie (Dary Zimy) (Phobias (Gifts of Winter)) got a KAN 2004 Distinction. They have also produced RAP, czyli raz a porządnie or I tak cały dzień. They will be appearing at the battlefield with their low-budget huge caliber: Niemy wiersz (Deaf Poem), Letni thriller (Summer Thriller), and Lustro (The Mirror), a Polish-American co-production made together with a Los Angeles art school. 42. Korporacja's competitor, Paweł Jeleński had a larger budget. His Namiętność (Passion), and two documentaries, Jest nas 6 milionów (There Are 6 Million of Us) and Filmy bez tytułów (Untitled Films) have been party funded by the EU.

The Jurors of the first Film Battle will be (Artur Pilarczyk, Beata Marciniak and Przemek Dudziński. There is also an audience award waiting for one of the six films. Finally, a special screening of Michał Poddębniak's Zielone i Żółte (Green and Yellow) has been planned as a conclusion of the event.
