The 7th Final of KAN Amateur and Independent Cinema Festival took place on the 6th-9th April 2006 in Wrocław. Earlier several Special Shows were organized during which all the best movies were presented. The shows were held in Poland and abroad in the space of all academic year 2005/2006. The Final – Wrocław His year’s edition was divided into two parts: the accurate (movies and art) and accompanying (music and entertainment). The whole show was organized in the main hall of Cinema Warszawa and in O¶rodek Działań Artystycznych Firlej, which was the KAN Festival’s Club. The cinema lovers had the opportunity to watch 46 amateur and independent competition movies. From all over the country we received 230 titles applying for the competition part (the movies were selected by the Qualification commission). We showed also films that did not participate in the competition. The members of the Jury: Patryk Vega – director and script-writer Andrzej Saramonowicz – director and script-writer Tomasz Madejski - cameraman Katarzyna Maciejko – assembler Wojciech Mecwaldowski –actor The workshops First of all the movie is a history that has to be told. The script is its basis. The participants of the workshops told us that the workshops dispelled a lot of their doubts and for sure will help them in making future movies. The workshops were held by the graduate of Film And TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague – Joanna Czarnecka. All the interested people could have taken part in the workshops: the movie authors qualified to KAN 2006 and the members of the audience. The participation was free. The Pre-Final Special Show. On the 6th of April, thanks to the support from the Foundation of Poland-German Cooperation we organized The Special Show of Independent Cinema KAN – Poland, Germany, Europe. We invited 10 movie authors from a friend festival Filmwochenende from Wurzburg (German Festival with more than 32 years of history) and we showed their movies. We also cooperated with the French Embassy and we showed some French shorts, but also movies from Hungary and Bulgaria. This show ended with a discussion with the invited guests, full of doubts and questions and turned out to be very popular among the viewers. The Awards In 2006 we changed the whole system of awarding the movie authors. We decided not to award separately the feature movies and the documentaries and we chose the following winners: The Golden KANewka and 1,500 zł: Anna Maszczyńska "Jadę do Ciebie, Agnieszko" The Silver KANewka and 1,000 zł: Agnieszka Smoczyńska "3 love" The Bronze KANewka and 500 zł: Marcin Sauter "Za płotem" The Special Jury’s KANewka and1,000 zł: Bodo Kox za całokształt The KANewka for the Photos and 1,000 zł: Marek Cichy "Stadium" The KANewka for the Montage and 1000 zł: Jacek Szymański "Biegiem" The Audience KANewka and 1000 zł: Anna Maszczyńska "Jadę do Ciebie, Agnieszko" The Special Awards: Filip Grudziel "W¶ród nocnej ciszy", Agnieszka Wilk "Slowloop", Tomasz Sztajer "Polska francuska", Paweł Wysoczański "Punkt widzenia" Dominik Matwiejczyk "Ugór", Hubert Gotkowski (DDN) "Koperta", Andrzej Wójcik "Brand new world". During the sixth edition we organized also a competition for a music promoting our Festival “KANtata” . The jury: Monika Czepielewska – the director of KAN Michał Pawlik – musician Krzysztof Stęplowski – editor-in-chief from the portal nowamuzyka.pl decided to award Adrian Anioł for "Driven to it" His work turned out to be the best because of 1. high functionality 2. cohesion 3. originality and the depth of sound 4. technics and profesionalism. The Special award of the French Embassy Again we cooperated with the French Embassy, which decided to award an author of an outstanding movie with a trip to France – first to Paris, then to La Rochelle. The awarded author was Marcin Sztajer for the movie „Polska Francuska”. Congratulations!!! |
