On January 19th, this year’s first KAN Special Screening will be held by the Discussion Film Club of Wrocław’s University of Technology. This time, we have decided to present a selection of animated films from the last two editions of KAN Festival.

Animated films are gaining in popularity with film enthusiasts. They are also technically better and better. Film makers have also largely turned to this seemingly trivial technique, and use it to make both easy and difficult films. That is why, during the 10th edition of KAN, we have introduced a new competition category. From that point, animated films also compete for KANewkas.

During the Screening, we will show films produced by Tomasz Pawlak, whose Druga Zmiana (Second Shift) and Ostatnia Podróż Profesora Igreka (Professor Y’s Last Journey) were awarded during the 10th edition of KAN Festival. One of those will be Historia Pewnej Promocji (History of Promotion), an irony tale of consumerism, hypocrisy, inhumane treatment of workers, and about an accident waiting to happen between the shelves.
